Boston Townhouse
Located in the historic Charlestown neighborhood, this Boston townhouse project included full-scale renovation management, comprehensive finish selection, furnishings and art selection. Built in 1875, the color palette throughout the residence references the Victorian-era, particularly the living room drenched in Farrow & Ball Dead Salmon No. 28 on the walls and millwork. The palette is modernized with unexpected accent colors that captured both the client’s artful taste, and timeless New England roots. This project was featured in Boston Magazine in February 2022.
Farrow & Ball Dead Salmon No. 28 drenches the walls, trim and millwork creating a moody yet soothing background for books and eclectic furnishings.
The trim and millwork in the living room was painted in Farrow & Ball Dead Salmon No. 28, Full Gloss sheen, and the walls are painted in Dead Salmon No. 28 Estate Emulsion for a contrasting matte appearance. The central blue cupboard is by Chelsea Textiles, and the artworks are vintage.
The Kitchen is at garden level, and painted in Farrow & Ball’s Breakfast Room Green No. 81. The wallpaper is Cole & Son Hummingbirds, a classic 18th Century pattern with vines, leaves and birds scattered throughout.
The Primary Bedroom dressing area is hidden behind wallpapered jib doors with Pierre Frey Alexandrie.
The dressing room utilizes a woven wood shade from The Shade Store.
The little girl’s bedroom design began with Schumacher’s Birds & Butterflies and features a wooden canopy bed by RH Baby & Child. The yellow side table is vintage, and the black task lamp is by Anglepoise.
